We are urgently hiring Warehouse Supervisors for our client, a trusted North American leader in the engineering and design of driveline, steering, and suspension aftermarket auto parts.
About the role:
The Warehouse Supervisor will be a part of the operations leadership team, this role is responsible for supervising a group of unionized employees and assisting in the management of various daily functional activities of the warehouse. This includes working towards attaining targets for put-away, picking, processing, and shipping of Inbound Raw Parts and/or Outbound Finished Goods in accordance with company policies and procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Location: Mississauga ON
Shifts:
· 3 pm to 11 pm
Salary: 70K to 80 k based on experience (benefits are after completing three months).
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of unionized warehouse employees, including delegation of tasks, training, coaching, and directing corrective action to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Plans, communicates and executes daily shift work plan outlining work assignments based on daily priorities, equipment availability, and space utilization
- Continuously monitor the performance and activities of the warehouse through the use of KPIs with a primary focus on cost controls
- Communicates daily to Distribution Manager and Warehouse Manager on achievement of shift targets, and shift issues and provides daily production reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment Ensure all orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner including investigation of lost or damaged shipments
- Recommends improvements in work procedures to improve productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
- Enforce policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Apply, record, and document discipline fairly and consistently as per CBA
- Works in cooperation with Human Resources on Labor Relations issues.
What are we looking for?
- Diploma, degree, or post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- 5 years of work experience in a supervisory role ideally in a unionized warehouse environment
- A proven leader with strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with MS Office, radio frequency ID systems (RFID), bar code systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) is an asset
