Logistics & Supplies Manager for Remutaka - based in Upper Hutt [New Zealand]

As the Electoral Commission continues to grow in the lead up to the 2023 General Election, we have fixed term opportunities for Logistics and Supplies Managers (LSM), based in numerous locations across the motu. These roles are interesting and varied where no two days are the same. Take the opportunity to be part of and contribute to the delivery of an event that is important for all New Zealanders.
The primary responsibility of the LSM is to plan and execute the packing, delivery, and the return to headquarters of equipment and supplies required to deliver voting services across the electorate for the 2023 General Election.
The targeted start date for this role is 19 June 2023 for a fixed term of approximately five months.

You are available to work extended hours including some weekends during busy periods.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana

  • Working closely with the Headquarters team, especially with the Electorate Manager and Recruitment and Rostering Manager
  • Developing a detailed and complete logistics plan for the movement of voting materials to and from all voting places
  • Plan and set up operational area for the electorate's Logistics and Supplies team (in collaboration with other electorates if in a shared headquarters)
  • Implement the electorate plan for the secure movement and storage of voting materials
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience is desired
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to quickly learn election-based IT systems
  • Proven experience in logistics and operational support or event management
  • High level of planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Experience working with people in their communities
  • A full New Zealand driver's license
